But there must be a reason we exist.
So I started thinking and here’s what I discovered.
The reason we exist is to love and care for each other so we can make the world a better place for everyone. Nothing else makes sense.
Yes, we have families to love, careers to pursue, and passions to embrace. But they’re not the reasons why we exist. We are here to make the world a better place. To love thy neighbour. To look out for one another. To spread a little more light, instead of darkness.
We have to resuscitate the gift of empathy, double down on kindness, and remember that the reason we exist is to love one another and make the world a better place.
In a small way I try by offering bursaries and scholarships to people who want to start their own business or build their existing business. I have some wonderful people on my programmes who will run great businesses one day, but who just need a little help to get
started.
Food for thought.

PS Did you know that what we call ‘big’ businesses don’t actually create many – if any – new jobs? Nearly all ‘new’ employees are hired by big companies to replace those who have left, retired or moved on. Virtually all new jobs in the UK are created by new and small businesses.
