Hi
There are a couple of scam emails we have heard of that are doing the rounds of which you - and your clients - should be aware.
Council tax e-mail scam: the first purports to be from gov.uk and looks authentic saying that due to the pandemic you have qualified for a council tax rebate and asks that you give your bank details for this to be paid.
Barclays text scam: there is a text from purporting to be from Barclays saying that a new payee - R davies - has been added to your account and asks if this is correct. The url link is to a page where you are asked to provide your bank details.
Scammers are getting more sophisticated. Unlike earlier scams the logos (copied obviously), wording and grammar is a lot better, but as always be aware of any message that asks you to post personal details online. Legitimate emails from banks, HMRC and the government will never ask you to do this.
Stay safe.
