Hi
Last Sunday my Sunday Supplement was entitled Is your website due for an MOT? Several readers thought that I'd gone into the IT business and was offering to do website MOTs myself.
I'm afraid not.
One reader questioned why a Chester accountant was blogging about websites.
That's easy to answer: you see I am both a chartered accountant and a business adviser. In fact I spend more time mentoring, coaching and advising my clients than I do preparing accounts and filing tax returns.
And as marketing is key to building a successful business its a subject we discuss often.
You may remember my post New balls please in which I explained about the seven skills needed to get started on the entrepreneurial journey:
- Determining your purpose, vision and core values;
- Creating a strategy and business plan;
- Designing a sustainable business model;
- Knowing and understanding your numbers;
- Getting and keeping customers;
- Transitioning through the stages from technician to manager to entrepreneur;
- Managing growth of a business.
And of course getting and keeping customers is what marketing is all about.
Most importantly, these skills are all inter-related - no-one can build a successful business without paying attention to all of them, which is what I and my advisory clients do.
No business skill is sufficient on its own to build a successful business. For example you may be great at getting customers but if your business model is inefficient you may not keep them for long which is why you need to know your numbers.
If I can help you connect all these skills just drop me an email; I may not be able to service your website but I can certainly help you to build a profitable business.
To your success
Noel Guilford
PS If you need one of those website MOTs I can highly recommend Will Robinson at https://ombush.com
