Hi
Overall, yesterday's Budget wasn't much to write home about. The Chancellor hasn't much room to manoeuvre and so it was a budget about all the small numbers and none of the big ones.
Disappointing. The principal role of governments - after keeping us safe - is to intervene
when the markets aren't delivering the growth and prosperity the country needs. On this measure the Chancellor gets a resounding 'could do better'.
Nevertheless there was the usual round of tinkering, straightening the deck chairs and a few 'popular' measures to try and catch the news headlines, which you may want to know about, so I attach our Budget report for you to read with your morning coffee.
