[Sunday supplement]: Do you have a website?

Published: Sun, 12/04/16

Hi

Ten years ago this is the question people would ask about your new business. A website was a sign you were a proper business - even if it was just an online brochure.

How quickly things change.

To the millennial generation websites (as well as emails) are things of the past. To them it's all about Apps and texting.

And it should be for your entrepreneurial business too.

Just a ten years ago lots of business owners thought they'd never have a website…….. and changed their minds a year or so later. The next must-have will be your own App where customers can interact with you from their smartphone and you can push segmented data to selected customers which they will receive and can respond to in real time.

The pace of change is now so rapid that some technologies are out of date even before they have been embraced by the laggards. Now don't misunderstand me. I modern well designed website where customers can download your lead magnet and interact with you is still a vital business too.  But apps are just one of the technologies that are coming and we can expect even more acceleration in 2017.

Most of the readers of this blog will be shaking their heads and refusing to believe me.  Other will be thinking:

“I have limited ability with technology”, or

I am too old to be worrying about Apps – I can barely write an email!”, or even

“I’m just fine as I am”

But you won’t be, because there is no such thing as the status quo: you are either growing or shrinking. But what is more important is that these are all limiting beliefs – the things that stop us and hold us back.

The bottom line of what will determine your entrepreneurial success is your beliefs.

Well actually it’s your awareness of your beliefs and your ability to modify those beliefs that leads to entrepreneurial success.

Entrepreneurs who enjoy success and the three freedoms – financial, time and purpose - are driven by a mindset that is different from the majority, and will be planning how soon they can launch their App in 2017.

Because they have the right mindset and there'll be no prizes for being left behind.
