Hi
"Your level of success will rarely exceed your level of personal development, because success is something you attract by the person you become." Jim Rohn
I was reminded of this quote by Jim Rohn as I was
researching my latest book. It’s called Journey to Freedom and explores why some entrepreneurs are super-successful (less than 5%, of whom less than 1% are millionaires) whilst the majority settle for mediocrity.
It is a subject that has intrigued me for the past few years since I became aware of the statistics.
And as I delved more into the subject (that’s been my summer pastime) I found some really interesting facts. I began to call them the ‘Success Mindset’. I found that successful people weren’t extraordinarily intelligent or even particularly talented. What they did demonstrate, however, was a huge amount of passion, determination, focus and belief, an ability to pick themselves up from adversity, a single-minded determination to achieve their goals and
persistence.
These qualities can only come from an individual’s mindset.
With such a mental make-up they overcome adversity through their persistence becoming stronger and more determined as a result. They welcome, and even create challenges, seek out obstacles to overcome, welcome criticism and
embrace failure and learning.
Which brought me to Jim Rohn who said develop the owner not the business.
But how many of us truly continue our personal development into adulthood? Sure, we may take a few work related courses but I’m talking here about real personal development not career-related
skills based training.
You see for most of us our belief system says that education is something you do when you’re young and it's hard work and not very enjoyable. What if your belief was that learning should carry on for a lifetime and was fun and rewarding?
Guess what super-successful
people believe?
To your success
