[Friday fun]: It's pandemonium

Published: Fri, 05/13/16

Hi

Anyone who’s ever tried to buy or sell a house will know just how stressful the process is.

From the viewings to the offers, the surveys to the solicitors, the course of buying your dream home rarely runs smoothly.

And for one seller from Beverly in East Riding, selling his home really has been pandemonium.

Literally.

In order to help sell his five-bedroom home, 42-year-old Lee Wilson enlisted the help of Vinny the Panda to make his pad all that more memorable.

The photos, which can be found on RightMove, show Vinny welcoming you in the front porch, working out in the home gym, chilling in the bath, and even eating his lunch in the kitchen. It’s both hilarious and terrifying in equal measure.

‘I just thought it was a novel way of showing the house,’ Lee explained. ‘It’s just a little bit different.’

He added: ‘I think it will probably be something people will remember, just because it’s a bit random. They’ll always think, “I’ll just have another look at that house with the panda in it”.’

You can see the photos for yourself here:

What Lee’s done here, is clever marketing at its very best.

He’s taken his product – in this case, the home he wants to sell – and has done something to make it stand out from his competition.

People sell houses all the time, but no-one dresses up as a panda to show off the rooms.

Lee has done something to position himself differently and make his prospects remember him.

To be clear, I’m not suggesting you dress up as a panda to woo your prospects and customers (though hey, it’s working so far for Lee!). But what I am suggesting is that you look at the ways you can turn up a little differently.

We see countless marketing messages every day. We become desensitised to them.

Shock and awe is a great way to make sure that it is YOU your customers are remembering and talking about.

Create a little PANDAmonium. It just might be the best thing you ever do.
