Today is the start of a new tax year. And with it comes increasingly onerous tax conditions for entrepreneurial business owners.
What the so-called "party for business" promised at the ballot box and what's materialised
in policy couldn't be more polarised.
And make no mistake, if you're a small business owner, it'll only get worse.
Like it or not, despite entrepreneurial businesses being the driving force of the UK economy, the government is targeting you and your business. They have you firmly in their sights.
They need your money to reduce the deficit.
The fact they are doing it by fleecing the small business owner (while turning a blind eye to the loopholes leveraged by large corporations sitting on millions of profit won't matter to Dave and George and their future lucrative non-exec contracts, publishing deals and speaking fees coming from the aforementioned corporations) matters
not.
Now you could be forgiven for thinking I’ve become the victim. It’s not my fault it’s all due to the economy and the banks. On the contrary, there's a big difference between playing the victim and seeing reality for what it is.
One elicits personal responsibility and resourcefulness,
the other doesn't.
Knowing you're a target and no one in the corridors of power is out to help you brings fresh perspective.
There hasn’t been a more important time to take control of your entrepreneurial destiny and discover how to ensure Mr. Osborne's desire to suck the life out
of your earnings is academic.
Most business owners won’t do this and you already know that it’s better to do what other don’t (or won’t) than follow the crowd.
But you don’t have to do it alone, because there is help for those who are passionate and determined - those who really want it badly
enough. The 5% who will eventually make it.
A couple of weeks ago we launched our Value Driver programme. We said it isn't for the faint hearted. As well as your 'day job' you'll be working
hard on your business for the next twelve months. Holding the mirror up to it and seeing it as it really is. No rose tinted spectacles here.
If you think you've got what it takes find out
more. We can only take on a limited number of people so drop me a line if you are interested or know someone who is.
Don’t let the government spoil your ‘new’ year.
