Did you know that from 1st October 2015 it will be an offence to sell goods or services to consumers and not refer those whose complaints you do not resolve to an appropriate dispute resolution service (and whose fees you alone will have to bear).
And, as from January 2016 you will also have to include on your websites a link to a European Commission website that will direct customers to an automatically selected service.
You didn't? No, neither did I.
Here is the
solution
But don't worry. My good friend and colleague Graham Ross (we have worked together for over 10 years) has stepped in and can offer you a special ticket to a major event in London next month which not only will, at your choice, be entirely free of charge, but will provide you, also at no charge, a system that will ensure you comply with the law and gain consumer
support and trust as a result (see below).
What is this new law?
This law will increase complaints. Further, the manner in which you handle these new obligations will impact on the extent of adverse consumer reviews and, thus, on your brand and, ultimately,
turnover.
If you do nothing and let the EU push your customer into any Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) service, will the one chosen be right for your business? They vary. Some issue a decision, whereas others offer mediation to help you and your customer reach a solution that will retain the customer's loyalty and avoid adverse reviews. Some may not best understand business, thus
leading to the risk of unfair decisions on the business.
There are also different levels of expertise. If you sell cars, does the service have the benefit of technical expertise or will the arbitrator come to a decision out of ignorance of the true issues?
What about the effect of court
proceedings, adverse consumer reviews and adverse customer tweets?
The event is a conference in London
All the answers will be available at a Conference being put on in the magnificent surroundings of the Theatre Royal in Drury Lane, London on Monday, 7th
September.
This conference will not just help you develop an effective policy, but you will continue to share knowledge from experts to ensure your business gains, rather than suffers, from these developments.
Further, by arrangement with Graham Ross, The Mediation Room and Resolver (Events) Ltd, if, after the event, you agree to allow The Mediation Room to provide a special addition to your terms of sale, which will ensure you not only
comply with the law but improve customer loyalty through increased consumer trust in your brand over competitors, then the £50 fee will be returned to you.
