Since the introduction of ID verification on 18 November,  Companies House has been experiencing significant issues with their systems which is affecting users ability to file. Below are their most serious known issues: 

Companies House submission issues

Since last Thursday afternoon, Companies House is not accepting or rejecting any submissions. This affects all third-party submissions, and not only those related to PSC updates.  Companies House provided the this update on Friday:

We’ve identified an issue today where the status of transactions is remaining as 'pending'.  Our teams are urgently investigating and working to resolve this as quickly as possible. We will provide a further update early next week once we have more information.

Verification statement (VS01) and other submissions for PSCs
Companies House has unfortunately not yet fixed specific issues with processing:

• Verification statement (VS01) submissions for PSCs 
• PSC change submissions
• PSC cessation submissions

With some verification statement submissions for PSCs due on 1 December 2025, Companies House have also provided the following information:

For any customers who have missed their filing deadline as a direct result of these technical issues, please advise them that there is no need to take any immediate action.

If they do receive a default letter, it will include instructions on how to make a representation for not filing an identity verification statement via an online form, where they will be able to cite these known issues and it will be handled accordingly.

Customers only need to make representations if they are overdue with their verification statement and will not be able to comply within the 28 days.

Companies House has created an online facility to make a representation for not filing an identity verification statement.
